Marchetti Tech Srl takes part in the NEOM Project

Vendor accreditation process completed

Marchetti Tech Srl, a manufacturer of high-tech paints to protect surfaces against corrosion, has completed the accreditation process as a vendor for the NEOM project of Saudi Arabia, a futuristic development of megacities worth 500 billion dollars.

The CEO of Marchetti Tech, Joseph Anthony Miceli, said: "we think we are making a great contribution in supporting the sustainable development goals, encouraging innovation and creativity thanks to the technology we apply to our paints". Eng. Tiziano Boccomino adds: "we are investing important resources to implement those technological solutions to create and protect those futuristic works of the NEOM City. NEOM is short for “New Future”. It salutes the dawning of a new era. It captures a new future, unrivalled in concept and unmatched in imagination and intelligence.

NEOM is, in every conceivable sense, unprecedented, a new future on earth like nothing on earth. Currently being developed in Tabuk, the North-West corner of Saudi Arabia that intersects Egypt and Jordan, NEOM is a pillar of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. It is being constructed with a foundation that serves nine specialised investment sectors: energy, biotech, food, mobility, advanced manufacturing, technological and digital sciences, tourism, media, and entertainment; all sectors strategically designed to attract international investment, and all part of a great push to diversify the oil-centric economy of Saudi Arabia. When completed it will be a city 33 times the size of NYC.

It will be an independent zone, with its own regulations and social norms, created specifically to be in service of economic progress and the well-being of its citizens, in the hopes of attracting the world’s top talent and making NEOM a hub of trade, innovation and creativity.

The first stage of NEOM is expected to be completed in 2025.
