Marchetti Tech's Board of Directors will launch an investment plan for the protection of the marine environment
Paints that work for the marine environment and become a precious resource for our seas
Marine litter, especially the plastic one, is a growing international problem. Plastic is estimated to make up 60-80% of all marine litter, and projections estimate that the ocean will contain one ton of plastic for every three tons of fish by 2025. The 80% of worldwide marine litter comes from terrestrial sources, while the rest 20% comes from ocean sources such as abandoned fishing gear.
The world's coastal waters and oceans are deteriorating due to increased coastal development, ship-borne pollution, land-based sources of pollution, habitat destruction and other threats.
Marchetti Tech Srl is working to reduce marine degradation in different ways. For example, we are launching a campaign to recover the packaging or at least make sure that our product is disposed properly.
We want to know how they use our product, so we can understand how to reduce waste and to prevent it from becoming polluting material.
We are concerned and confident at the same time, that we can change things. We are trying to establish partnerships with companies to create equipment that can reduce the environmental impact of our industrial actions and practices, especially when we are in the marine environment.
Marchetti Tech, during the next board of directors, will launch an investment plan to be dedicated to projects for the protection of the marine environment.
Arianna Marchetti, Chief Innvation Officer declares: "we can and must sensitize all products to commit themselves in the front row to protect our seas. Profit cannot come before our very existence, therefore we use our products in a responsible way and we invest to clean up the damage done, even if caused by others".
