Marchetti Tech Srl starts the production of Graphene primers, coatings and varnishes
After the presentation of the Professional Line of Primer, Coating and Painting Marchetti Tech, at the Smart Stone Fair. The company continues with its development which until now is giving positive results beyond the most optimistic expectations.
Thomas Cardinali, journalist and editor and chief of InTaste - Eccellenze Italiane magazine, interviewed Marchetti Tech CEO Joseph Anthony Miceli.
TC: “Has Marchetti Tech srl finally made the graphene paint?”
JM: "We can say it, finally Marchetti Tech Srl after a long period of study and research, laboratory and field tests, in Italy and abroad, has started the production of paints and coatings based on Graphene.”
TC: “What are the results?”
JM: "We started out to produce coating products that had to guarantee a higher quality than all the others on the market, especially in avoiding corrosion. Today we can say that we have achieved a result well beyond our expectations.”
TC: “Can you explain better?”
JM: "We can only say that the primer and paints we have made with graphene base do not behave like traditional paints, the results are above any other on the market. We can scientifically prove from our laboratory tests that with graphene we have far outperformed the benefits of galvanising. This is not just a high-performance product, but a new way of treating surfaces that we call "Graphene Application Cycle", an application cycle that aims to revolutionize the way metal surfaces are protected. Thanks to science and hard work we are convinced that we have brought an unprecedented product to the market.”
TC: “Have you achieved your mission?”
JM: "Our mission was to create, develop and produce graphene products that could help our customers - who ask us for solutions to their problems. We did this in silence and with a lot of dedication, working to create a stable, quality and easily repeatable product. I am very proud because the graphene paints slow down the impact of corrosions on metallic surface.”
TC: “Can officially declare the challenge against corrosion has begun?”
JM: “Yes of course, the damage that corrosion does to the economy is worth over $2 billion, not to mention the devastating environmental impact. We at Marchetti are investing heavily in the green, so we will continue to develop and improve the application study of graphene exactly as we have done since the first day our technicians first entered the laboratory.”
TC: “I know very well your commitment to environmental protection and you have also received international awards, so tell me what will Marchetti Tech's Graphene paint do for the environment?”
JM: "Certainly, we aim more and more to be a sustainable company. Our aim is to help others develop circular economies to promote sustainability. Marchetti Tech's graphene based paints will help reduce environmental impact by reducing the materials that go to landfills, reducing the use of less performing products that need to be used for a long time to avoid corrosion of any surface.”
TC: “How does Marchetti Tech plan to introduce the new product to graphene?”
JM: “In addition to commercial channels, Marchetti Tech will present the new product to the scientific community in the coming months, covid permitting, and meetings with the academic world will be promoted. Given the exceptional results achieved, laboratory and field results will be repeated in various countries around the world.”
TC: “Do you already have pre-order for your products?”
JM: "we have received requests from various industries: marine, heavy industry, construction, automotive and from laboratories and companies in the paint sector".
TC: “Are paint manufacturers like you ordering your product?”
JM: "Yes, we have always firmly believed in KNOW HOW SHARING. We have no problem sharing our technology with other companies, we think it is a great opportunity for the whole industry.”
TC: “Are you the first company in the world to make graphene paints?”
JM: "Look, I don't know, I don't follow other manufacturers very much. We have worked hard, investing significant resources with the help of multinational companies that have given significant help to the development of this technology. We are certainly one of the first companies in the world to allow graphene to leave the laboratory and end up in industrial cycles, bringing out the precious qualities of this revolutionary material to protect surfaces.”
TC: “How do you feel?”
JM: "I approached this project with a strong sense of responsibility and at the same time with eyes full of wonder like those of a child entering a laboratory for the first time. The credit, however, is not mine, all credit goes to my team and all the employees in Italy and in the other countries. We have worked hard and thanks to the many professionals we have reached this first important goal.”
